Inquiry Timetable

 

To Begin

The Appellant

Obtains a copy of the Appeal form from the Planning Inspectorate (a link is provided on the web page)

Completes the form and collects together the supporting documents

Submits the documents to the Planning Inspectorate before the appeal time has finished

Sends a copy of the documents to the Local Planning Authority

 

The Planning Inspectorate

Receives the appeal and checks that it is valid

Writes to the LPA and the Appellant setting a "starting date" for the appeal procedures

 

 

The Local Planning Authority

Receives the appeal documents from the Appellant

Completes an Appeal Questionnaire

Within two weeks of the starting date

The LPA

Sends one copy of the questionnaire and any supporting documents to the PI

Sends one copy of the questionnaire to the Appellant

Informs any third parties of the appeal details and advises them where to send any comments

 

The Appellant

Receives the completed questionnaire from the LPA

 

The PI

Receives a completed questionnaire

Allocates an Inspector and arranges a site visit date

 

Third Parties

Receive notification of the appeal details

Send any comments to the PI within six weeks of the "starting date"

Within six weeks of the starting date

The LPA

Sends the PI two copies of any further Statement and supporting documents they wish to be considered as part of the Appeal

 

 

The Appellant

Sends the PI two copies of any further Statement and supporting documents they wish to be considered as part of the Appeal

 

The PI

Receives the Statements from both parties

Forwards one copy to either side together with any third party comments received

Within nine weeks of the starting date

The LPA

Ensures the PI received two copies of any final comments on the Appeal. No further exchange of correspondence is allowed after this time.

 

The Appellant

Ensures the PI received two copies of any final comments on the Appeal. No further exchange of correspondence is allowed after this time.

 

Third parties

Receive Inquiry details

4 weeks before the Inquiry date

The LPA

Send two copies of their Statement of Evidence to the PI

 

The Appellant

Send two copies of their Statement of Evidence and one copy of their Statement of Common Ground to the PI
