Enjoy an Easter eggstravaganza on the Pembrokeshire Coast

If you’re looking for a cracking day out for the family this Easter, take a look at the egg-citing range of activities and events on offer in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, Castell Henllys Iron Age Village and Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre all have something to entertain everyone from the young to the young at heart, while there are also plenty of opportunities to join in the fun out in the National Park landscape.

Castell Henllys Iron Age Village will kick off the Easter holidays with a Roman Day on 29 March with a chance to become a Roman centurion or a wild painted warrior from 11.30am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. £1 per activity plus admission.

On 4 and 11 April, Pirates and Princes will introduce the legends of the sea with a guided walk with storytellers at 11.30am followed by activities in the fort. There will also be stories in the fort at 2pm followed by activities. £3 per child plus normal admission.

From 30 March to 15 April at Carew Castle and Tidal Mill you can take on the Easter Chick Challenge as you search the Castle for clues! Find them all to claim your yummy Easter prize! £1 per child plus normal admission.

The Castle will also be welcoming Pembrokeshire Falconry’s Fabulous Falcons on 2 April who will be providing action packed displays at 12 noon and 3pm with a variety of birds and the opportunity to hold a bird for £1.

At Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre you’ll be able to go on an Easter Treasure Hunt between 10am-4pm from 31 March to 14 April, finding clues and answering riddles around the Centre and grounds in order to win a prize. £2 per person.

April 8 will see the Spring Fayre return to Oriel y Parc from 10am-4pm with stalls featuring local produce and crafts and live music.

The Fayre will also feature a special Mermaid and Pirate Party featuring mystical sea-themed adventure comprising of dress up, activities and undersea fun! There will be two party sessions from 10.30am-12 noon and 2pm-3.30pm with entry £6 per child. Booking is essential.

Highlights out and about in the National Park landscape include the extremely popular tours of the Castlemartin Range, On Foot on 8 April and By Minibus on 15 April. Tickets are £8 for adults and £6 for seniors. Please note these tours are for over 18s only and dogs are not allowed.

For those who want to experience something new in North Pembrokeshire, Ranger Richard Vaughan will be helping people Discover the Gwaun Valley at 1pm on 12 April. Tickets are £3 per person.
