Experience the Iron Age (Daily From 1 April)

Your ancient adventure awaits! Come and visit our Iron Age village where you will meet friendly members of our tribe who will tell you all about life in the Iron Age. You will have the opportunity to have a go with a slingshot (weather permitting), watch a demonstration of an ancient craft or skill and be painted with beautiful blue patterns. A guided tour of the village is also included in your admission fee.

Experience the Iron Age Quiet Morning (Sundays 10am-12pm)

Every Sunday morning we offer Experience the Iron Age with no loud or noisy activities or demonstrations. Normal admission applies.

Although we can provide our sessions bilingually, these sessions are aimed at visitors who would like their experience entirely through the medium of Welsh. These sessions are also suitable for those who are learning Welsh. Normal admission applies.

Special Events

Ancient Textiles Workshop 

Saturday 9 September, Sunday 15 October

Learn the textile techniques of our ancestors to create your own piece of prehistoric textile. During this workshop you will be introduced to the basics of spinning, weaving and dyeing. Ticket includes admission to the Iron Age Village and all materials. Suitable for ages 12+. Children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Wild Food and Medicine Walk

Saturday 23 September 11am – 1pm

A wild food and medicine walk with professional forager Jade Mellor, where you’ll identify and gather a selection of seasonal leaves, herbs and blossoms, learn about their uses (culinary and medicinal) and how to prepare them, and make a wild condiment to take home. £25 per person (includes admission to the Iron Age Village). Places limited. Ages 12+

Fungal Foray

Come and celebrate the UK Fungus Day at Castell Henllys. Enjoy an informative walk and talk, collecting and identifying fungi. Features a Fungus Day exhibition and displays by the Pembrokeshire Fungus Recording Network.

Free. Does not include admission to the village; tickets for the Village can be purchased separately if wanted. For entry prices visit the Castell Henllys website.

Children must be supervised by an adult.
