With the days getting longer and the first signs of spring starting to emerge, it’s a perfect time for a stroll around Carew Castle and the Millpond followed by a visit to Nest Tearoom.
Nest Tearoom at Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, managed by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, is a cosy, bright and modern tearoom within the recently remodelled Walled Garden. It is currently open Sunday to Friday, 10am to 3pm. From 30 March the Tearoom will be open seven days a week.
Enjoy spring at Nest Tearoom in the garden of Carew Castle and Tidal Mill.
Carew Castle Interim Manager Mark Everson said: “For visitors enjoying a walk around the Millpond there is no need to pay an entrance fee to enjoy a slice of freshly baked cake with a hot or cold drink, Nest Tearoom is freely accessible to all.
With indoor and outside seating, the new child-friendly Walled Garden at Carew Castle is a fantastic place to take a break whilst walking the one mile circular route around the Millpond. The route is a great opportunity to get some fresh air and exercise and is also suitable for wheelchairs and little ones in pushchairs.”
Mark added: “We strive to be single-use plastic free by selling glass bottled drinks and using compostable takeaway cups. We are also a Refill Wales station for those who need to top up their own water bottles.”
From the end of March Nest Tearoom will be serving light lunches, such as warm filled sourdough rolls, soup, Welsh platters, as well as local ale and cider.
Carew Castle and Tidal Mill shops are also accessible and feature a range of products inspired by the Medieval and Tudor history of the castle and its picturesque setting, including local honey, the Authority’s popular retro poster range, children’s archery sets and even rum made with seaweed if you need to pick up a unique gift.
