Heritage of St Brides

29 June 10:00am - 2:00pm

St Brides contains a fascinating array of archaeological and historical features spanning prehistory to more recent times. From hunter gatherer settlements and medieval burials, to the 19th century romanticised castle and 20th century World War features, join us for a walk to explore the traces of the past that remain here and learn how the climate change affects the National Park’s precious coastal archaeology.

This walk is delivered in partnership with the CHERISH project and our Community Archaeologist Tomos Jones will be joined by the project experts Dr Toby Driver and Louise Barker, RCAHMW, to give you a fascinating insight into the impacts of climate change on the rich cultural heritage of our sea and coast. “We’ll follow the Pembrokeshire coastal path for approximately 4km, walking down from the St Brides car park towards Nab Head and back again. This will be a fairly easy walk but there are sections of uneven, rough ground which can be muddy underfoot, so please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. Please remember to bring water, and any medication or food you might need.
