The Lost Words / Geiriau Diflanedig

18/07/2023 10:00am - 4:00pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 10:00am, repeating until 02/06/2024

This enchanting exhibition combines the creative talents of writer Robert Macfarlane and artist Jackie Morris to celebrate the relationship between language and the living world, and nature’s power to spark the imagination.
The exhibition is based on The Lost Words, the Sunday Times bestselling book, published in 2017. The Lost Words began as a response to the removal of the names of plants and animals from children’s dictionaries due to their lack of use in everyday life.
A retreat for the eyes, mind and soul, this exhibition aims to reconnect adults and children to the natural world using the magic of words and art.
For the very first time, this exhibition will also be showcasing ‘Geiriau Diflanedig’, a Welsh language version of the book, written by Welsh poet, Mererid Hopwood.

A touring exhibition organised by Compton Verney, with Hamish Hamilton and Penguin Books
