Celebrate the apple harvest at Carew Castle’s Apple Pressing Day
Carew Castle is inviting local communities to roll up their sleeves and get pressing this autumn, with a hands-on event that transforms surplus apples into fresh, delicious juice.
Taking place on Saturday 4 October from 10am–2pm, Apple Pressing Day offers the perfect opportunity to celebrate the season’s bounty in the stunning surroundings of Carew Castle – a site managed by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
The Castle’s apple pressing team will be on hand to guide visitors through the process, helping them turn their gathered apples into a sweet, satisfying reward. All you need to bring is your apples, and a container to take your juice home in.
Daisy Hughes, Manager of Carew Castle, said: “Apple Pressing Day is one of those simple joys that brings people together. Whether you’re arriving with a basket of garden apples or just keen to see the press in action, there’s something deeply satisfying about turning fruit into something fresh and delicious. It’s a lovely way to mark the season and enjoy a few hours at the Castle.”
This is a free event and does not include admission to the Castle or Tidal Mill – tickets can be purchased on the day for those who wish to explore inside. Nest Tearoom will also be open throughout, serving hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes and light lunches – a welcome way to round off your visit or pause between pressing sessions.
