Have your say on the future of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

Posted On : 27/01/2026

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is inviting residents, organisations and stakeholders to take part in an early-stage consultation on key documents that will help shape Local Development Plan 3 (LDP3).

The consultation opens on Monday 26 January 2026 and runs until 5pm on Monday 23 March 2026.

Local Development Plan 3 will guide how the National Park develops over the coming years, influencing decisions on planning, sustainability, communities, the environment and climate change. At this early stage, the Authority is keen to hear from people about the main issues they think the Plan should address, helping to shape its future direction from the outset.

The documents open for consultation are:

  • Sustainability Appraisal incorporating the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Scoping Report, including background information on relevant plans, policies and environmental baselines
  • Draft Issues, Vision and Objectives Paper, setting out key challenges and a potential long-term vision for the National Park
  • Local Development Plan 2 Annual Monitoring Report (April 2024 – March 2025)

An online engagement event will be held on Monday 9 February, 7pm–8.30pm, providing an opportunity to learn more about the documents and ask questions. The event will take place on Microsoft Teams.

Anyone wishing to attend should register by emailing devplans@pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk. Welsh-language translation can be provided on request if notified by Monday 2 February.

All consultation documents will be available to view on the National Park Authority’s website. They can also be accessed on public computers in libraries, and paper copies can be provided at a cost.

Comments can be submitted online via the consultation questionnaire, by email, or in writing to the Strategic Policy Team at the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.

All responses will be acknowledged and made public, and feedback will be considered as the Authority prepares the next stages of Local Development Plan 3.

For more information, or to take part in the consultation, visit the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority website or contact the Strategic Policy Team at devplans@pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk or on 01646 624800.
