Pembrokeshire Craft Makers is an independent society of makers and artists founded 40 years ago to promote and market its members' work. Our renowned exhibitions present the quality, style, elegance and originality of the makers and artists of West Wales.
Jo Thomas and Dawn Steward
Jo Thomas has been a member of the group for several years. She is a self-taught artist who has lived for much of her life in Pembrokeshire. She paints mostly in oils and but also with water colour and pastels combined. Inspired by exploring the local beaches and countryside in Pembrokeshire, she creates atmospheric landscapes as well as wonderfully observed figurative images of families enjoying moments by the sea and on the sands.
Dawn Steward is a Welsh folk artist known for her vivid, jewel-like colour palettes, often inspired by the landscapes and coastal beauty of Pembrokeshire. She works with acrylics on wooden panels and she also uses resin over collaged work which not only enhances the depth and luminosity of the colours but also acts as a protective layer, preserving the artwork over time.
Jo and Dawn’s work can be seen in the Discovery Room Windows from Wednesday 22 April until Sunday 14 June 2026
