Investigating Materiality – Urban Abstraction by Sue Lewis
A collection of rings created within the BA (Hons) Jewellery Design course at Coleg Sir Gâr, Carmarthen for the module Investigating Materiality.
Inspired by Oriel y Parc – a modern, sustainable, and architecturally innovative building – this series transforms the forms, shapes, patterns, colours, and surfaces into contemporary ring designs. Each piece responds to elements found within the building—its geometry, rhythm, light, and materials – translating the essence of an iconic urban structure into wearable art.
Sue’s work can be seen in the Discovery Room Windows from Thursday 8 January until Wednesday 25 February 2026
