Planning Services

Many people who telephone or visit the National Park offices wish to make general, as well as specific, enquiries of the planning section. The Department has officers with Welsh as their first language and a copy of this document, in Welsh, is available upon request.

The Authority has set the following standards when handling all enquiries:

  • All staff will be polite and courteous at all times
  • Staff will be available from 8.45 am - 5.00 pm on Mondays - Thursdays 8.45 am - 4.30 pm on Friday
  • Personal callers will be met by the receptionist who will arrange for an interview with a member of the planning service section. It may not always be possible for a specific officer to be available to personal callers without a prior appointment.
  • Appointments with a specific officer will be arranged for the earliest date available.
  • Appointments outside of these core hours can sometimes be arranged – by appointment only.
  • Telephone calls (where messages are left with the Reception staff for persons unavailable at the time of calling) will be returned within TWO working days.
  • Written enquiries (by mail, hand, facsimile and e-mail) will receive a substantive reply within TEN working days.
