The National Park Authority has prepared Guidance on Sustainable Design and Development. This includes useful design guidance for renewable energy, to which developers and applicants should refer. This guidance is reflected in the technology-specific guidance that follows.
Renewable energy generation is a key part of the commitment to reducing reliance on fossil fuels, tackling the climate emergency and meeting the Welsh Government’s targets to achieve decarbonisation. In addition to powering and heating homes, buildings and businesses, renewable energy can bring social and economic benefits through job creation in the manufacturing, construction and maintenance industries.
An earlier version of this guidance was adopted under Local Development Plan 1.
This guidance will be used to consider both planning applications to this planning authority for renewable forms of energy and for preparing Local Impact Reports.
