There is a packed programme of events and fun activities for all ages at Carew Castle throughout the year from Have-a-Go Archery, interactive Horrid Histories talks and Ghost Tours to Open Air Theatre, Knight School and our Christmas events!

Christmas Illuminations at Carew Castle
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 28 November to 14 December
4.30pm – 7.30pm

Enchanting light displays create a magical welcome for all the family as you approach the Walled Garden, with Nest Tearoom serving all your festive favourites.

The magic continues as you follow the twinkling lights to discover the Castle dressed for Christmas, with atmospheric new displays for 2025, this is one experience not to miss!

Take part in a Snowman Trail, hunt for the clues hidden around the Castle and receive a treat for your efforts! The trail costs £2 per child.

Live music from local choirs and groups will be in the Lesser Hall each weekend.

Do I need to book?

Yes, due to the popularity of Glow this event requires prebooking via our website.

Tickets are limited, please book to avoid disappointment. Tickets are non-refundable.

How much does it cost?

Tickets: Adult £3.50, Child (4-16) £2.50

All free entry tickets also need to be booked online. These include:

  • Annual pass holder (bring your pass along on the evening)
  • Carew parish resident (Proof of address is required for all adults in the group)
  • Wheelchair user
  • Accompanying carer (please see list of accepted documentation here)

 

Santa’s Grotto – FULLY BOOKED
Saturdays and Sundays from  29 November to 14 December
10am – 4pm

Santa will be in his magical Grotto hidden within the Castle walls

How much does it cost to see Santa?

It costs £8 per child to meet Santa and receive a gift. The ticket includes daytime entry to the Castle.

Booking is essential. Book here. Tickets are non-refundable.

Is there a charge for the rest of the group?

All those accompanying the child to the Grotto MUST also purchase a valid Castle entrance ticket.

Accompanying tickets are priced as:

Adult £3.50, Child (4-16) £2.50 (not seeing Santa)

Accompanying tickets can be purchased online.

Please allow time to walk from the Shop to the Castle. Grotto/daytime tickets are not valid for evening entry.

Is the grotto accessible for all?

Yes, the Grotto is on the ground floor of the Castle.

Will the Tearoom be open?

Yes, Nest Tearoom will be open serving festive treats including our fabulous luxury hot chocolates and mulled wine!
