No Mow Meadow Mystery
Daily from Saturday 3 May – Sunday 1 June
Join us for the No Mow Meadow Mystery, a fun-filled treasure hunt where kids become nature detectives! Follow clues, and uncover nature’s treasures while learning about plants, bugs, and wildlife. Perfect for young adventurers! Take part using a smart phone.
£2 per child. Normal admission fees apply.
Hooray for Herbs!
Saturday 24 May, Wednesday 28 May and Sunday 1 June, 2.30pm – 3.30pm
A chance for children and families to discover the wonderful world of herbs! Enjoy a short tour of our herb beds, tasting and smelling as you go. Gather all the herby ingredients you will need to make toothpaste, lemon balm tea and a ‘nose gay’, a sweet-scented posy of fresh herbs and flowers.
Included FREE with normal admission fee. Children must be accompanied.
Bowlore: Legends of Bow and Blade
Sunday 25 – Tuesday 27 May, 10am – 4pm
The spectacular archers and knights of Bowlore, are back with their medieval encampment for death-defying sword fighting, awesome archery and armour displays. Take part in Sword School, Have-a-Go Archery and handle an authentic medieval sword and other weaponry.
Normal admission fees apply plus small CASH charge for some activities.
Horrid Histories
Wednesday 28 May – Friday 30 May, 11am
Discover all the things you were never taught in history class! Gory stories, terrible tales and revolting reports about castle life in a fun, interactive talk for the younger generation.
Included FREE with normal admission fee. Children must be accompanied.
Family Guided Castle Tour
Thursday 29 May, 1.30pm
Join a family-friendly guided tour of the Castle. No dates! No kings and queens! Hear how people really lived in castles, from Lords to servants, and how and why castles were built the way they were. Recommended age 6+ but open to all!
Included FREE with normal admission fee. Children must be accompanied.
FIRE! Launch of the Giant Trebuchet
Thursday 29 May, 2.30pm
Join us as we count down and launch our Giant Trebuchet, a huge medieval catapult used to attack Castles. Watch as this ingenious and powerful weapon of siege is unleashed, see the power of medieval engineering in action. Learn how huge stones were flung with enough force to breach the strongest of fortifications, other things that were flung included plagued bodies, rotting animal carcasses, and burning tar! Bring the whole family for a fun, educational experience.

The Storymaster’s Quests: Castle of Adventure
Friday 30 and Saturday 31 May, 1pm
Join an interactive fantasy adventure featuring brand-new quests created and performed by international best-selling immersive author and games designer Oliver McNeil of The Storymaster’s Tales. Featuring the voice of Tom Baker (Doctor Who), this brilliant family fantasy show includes audience participation that will change the course and outcome of the quests.
Suitable for age 6 to adult, running time approx. one hour.
