VC Gallery
An exhibition of colourful work by two contemporary Welsh artists from West Wales whose work is fundamentally connected to Pembrokeshire ‘s VC Gallery community.
Barry John MBE is an award-winning, internationally renowned artist from Neyland. Barry served 24 years in the British Army during which time he began his journey as an artist. It lead him to support others through art whilst he become a war artist himself. On leaving the army, Barry was determined to carry on supporting others. He went on to found what has become West Wales leading veterans’ charity, the VC Gallery. By design the charity also provides much needed support for excluded communities in the area.
Barry’s inspiration comes from many sources including Remembrance and cultural influences.
Mark Rosser, originally from Haverfordwest, is a veteran of the Royal Air Force having served as a medic and later commissioning into the Air Cadets running units across West Wales. A compulsive doodler, Mark started painting as a relief from a highly stressful job. Although that career is now behind him, the painting continues. Mark was the lead volunteer at the charity’s highly successful Bridge Street gallery and is currently running the new VC Riverside gallery in Haverfordwest. Mark finds inspiration in the beautiful Pembrokeshire scenery as well as films, music and international travel.
The VC Gallery’s work can be seen in the St Davids Room from Friday 13 November until Tuesday 22 December 2026
