The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority can’t achieve National Park purposes on its own, and many organisations have a duty through the Environment Act 1995 to contribute to National Park purposes in their own operations.
The Management Plan is a way of coordinating that effort: it is a plan for achieving National Park purposes, not just a plan for the Park Authority. And while the Authority produces the Management Plan, many other people are involved in its preparation, and are essential to its delivery.
The policies in the Management Plan are offered as operational objectives for the many organisations and individuals whose actions may influence the National Park.

National Park Management Plans - Guidance
Update November 2018
The National Park Authority is reviewing the current National Park Management Plan (2015-2019) in line with an engagement strategy approved by the National Park Authority on 20th June 2018.
At this stage the Authority is inviting comments on “Opportunities and Challenges. Discussion Paper for the Management Plan 2020-2024”. Views will directly inform a consultation draft NPMP 2019-2020 which is scheduled for preparation in Spring 2019 and will be formally consulted on between August and October 2019.
The discussion paper is based on a series of background papers and includes maps and a questionnaire.
The closing date for comments is 5pm, Friday 4th January 2019.
Data Protection and publication of responses
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority (“the National Park Authority”) will be the data controller for any personal data you provide as part of your response to the consultation.
The National Park Authority has a statutory duty to review the National Park Management Plan and engage people in this process. Personal information will only be used in connection with the National Park Management Plan review. Any response you send us will be seen in full by National Park Authority staff dealing with the review of the National Park Management Plan.
In order to show that the consultation was carried out properly, the National Park Authority intends to publish a summary of the responses to this document. It may also publish responses in full. Normally, the name of the person or organisation who sent the response is published with the response. If you do not want your name published, please tell us this in writing when you send your response. If your details are published as part of the consultation response then these published reports will be retained indefinitely. Any other personal data will be deleted at the end of the Management Plan review process. Under the data protection legislation you have the right:

A Delivery Agreement, setting out how the NPA proposes to prepare a Management Plan for the period 2015-19, was adopted by the Authority on 2nd April 2014. The Delivery Agreement can be viewed here.
Technical updates to the Management Plan 2009-2013 were adopted by the Authority on 11th June 2014. These updates extend the 2009-13 Plan’s life until the end of 2014 and can be viewed here.
A consultation draft Management Plan for the period 2015-19, and associated impact assessments, were made publicly available for comment between 1st August and 31st October 2014. Proposed revisions were considered by the Authority on 17th December 2014. A report of consultations is available here.
